A Coosa County man was killed when his car hit a patch of gravel that spilled on Highway 22 East near Alexander City, Ala.

The Outlook reports that Alexander City Police Department Sgt. Johnny Spivey confirmed that 68-year-old Richard T. Marbury died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash that occurred at 2:07 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2017.

An employee has been fined $11,000 plus $1745 in costs over the death of another worker at a hay baling workplace at Narrogin in 2013.

The man pleaded guilty to failing to take reasonable care for the safety of another person and, by that failure, causing the person’s death, and was fined in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

  • Highly developed sales skills

  • Strong computer literacy

Elizabeth Gibson, General Manager CMPA spent Monday to Wednesday this week visiting members, potential members and regulators in South Gippsland. Time was spent viewing members sites, discussing the current activities that the CMPA is doing to help support your businesses and taking notes on issues that members currently have with their operations.

Thanks to Maryvale Sands, Latrobe Valley Sands, WorkSafe, DEDJTR, South Gippsland Quarries, Prosper Valley Enterprises, De Merlo Contractors and Evans Quarries for allowing us the time to visit your sites.

FINAL reminder that CMPA is holding a Workshop on “Progressive Rehabilitation in Quarries”.

The purpose of the workshop is to develop an extractive industry guideline and to provide participants with appropriate management practices required to progressively rehabilitate a quarry.

Date:    Thursday 23 February, 2017

Where: Best Western Frankston International, 383 Nepean Highway, Frankston

Time:    8.30am to 4.30pm

Cost:     $125 (Members) – $150 (others)

Morning tea and lunch provided.

We are seeking an Administration Support Officer for an immediate start for 24 hours per week (negotiable).

Duties of this part time position include:

  • General administration including filing and archiving both manual and electronic and daily account tasks
  • Processing general correspondence and communications
  • Creating and compiling member database reports
  • Carrying out typesetting and formatting of publications and reference manuals
  • Uploading articles and blogs to website and social media
  • Assist with setup of events and training courses
  • Assist with maintaining relationships with Members
